With support from Coalition of Ethiopian Civil Society Organizations for Elections (CECOE), TIMRAN and YMCA Wolaita Sodo join forces to launch the Regional Youth Civic Engagement Hub in Wolaita Sodo!

Implemented under the project: Promoting Democracy, Human Rights and Civic Engagement of Ethiopians through Strengthening Civil Actors. TIMRAN, in partnership with YMCA Wolaita Sodo, introduced the Regional Youth Civic Engagement Hub to the community at a launch forum held in Wolaita Sodo Town, South Ethiopia Region.

The program opened with blessings from religious leaders, followed by an official opening address from Ms. Etenesh Elias, Head of the Wolaita Sodo Town Women and Social Affairs Office.

The forum brought together different stakeholders, including department heads from the Sodo Town Administration, elders, youth representatives, social media influencers, school representatives, club leaders, and representatives from non-governmental organizations.

As a hands-on expression of civic engagement, participants also took part in a voluntary blood donation drive demonstrating solidarity and community responsibility.

This Hub will serve as a dynamic space for civic education, dialogue, and youth-led engagement empowering the next generation to actively shape democratic participation and peace building in their communities.

TIMRAN remains committed to strengthening civic actors and expanding spaces where youth and women can lead.
