To discourage GBV governments and institutions need to implement robust legal frameworks

Gender-based violence (GBV) is a pervasive issue affecting women worldwide, creating significant barriers to their participation in politics. GBV encompasses physical, sexual, psychological, and coercive practices that perpetuate inequality and reinforce power imbalances. It often manifests in domestic violence, sexual harassment, and trafficking, undermining women’s autonomy and well-being.

The intersection of GBV and political participation is complex, with intimidation, fear, systemic barriers, undermining women’s authority, and disrupting political careers. To address this issue, governments and institutions need to implement robust legal frameworks, support systems, training, and awareness programs.

Promoting gender equality should be integrated into broader political agendas, advocating for equal representation, creating gender-sensitive policies, and fostering an environment where women can participate without fear of violence. Empowering women through education, leadership training, and community engagement can build resilience and enable them to overcome the barriers imposed by GBV. By taking comprehensive measures to combat GBV and promote gender equality, we can work towards a more equitable and representative political system.

ጾታን መሠረት ያደረጉ ጥቃቶች ለመግታት መንግሥታት እና ተቋማት ጠንካራ የሕግ ማእቀፎችን መተግበር አለባቸው  

ጾታን መሠረት ያደረጉ ጥቃቶች ሴቶችን በዓለም አቀፍ ደረጃ የሚያጠቃ እና በፖለቲካ ውስጥ እንዳይሳተፉ ከፍተኛ እንቅፋት የሚፈጥር ጉዳይ ነው። ጾታን መሠረት ያደረጉ ጥቃቶች  የአካል፣ ጾታዊ፣ ሥነ ልቦናዊ እና አስገዳጅ ልማዶችን ያጠቃልላል፣ ብዙውን ጊዜ በቤት ውስጥ ጥቃት፣ ጾታዊ ትንኮሳ እና ሕገ ወጥ የሰዎች ዝውውር ውስጥ ይታያል፣ ይህም የሴቶችን ራስን በራስ የማስተዳደር ችሎታ እና ደኅንነትን የሚጎዳ ነው።

ጾታን መሠረት ያደረጉ ጥቃቶች እና የፖለቲካ ተሳትፎ ግንኙነት ውስብስብ ነው፣ በማስፈራራት፣ በፍርሃት፣ በሥርዓታዊ እንቅፋቶች፣ የሴቶችን ሥልጣን በማዳከም እና የፖለቲካ ሥራን በማወክ ይፈጸማል። ይህንን ችግር ለመፍታት መንግሥታት እና ተቋማት ጠንካራ የሕግ ማእቀፎችን ፣ የድጋፍ ሥርዓቶችን ፣ የሥልጠና እና የግንዛቤ ማስጨበጫ ፕሮግራሞችን መተግበር አለባቸው።

የሥርዓተ-ጾታ እኩልነትን ማሳደግ ከሰፊ የፖለቲካ አጀንዳዎች ጋር መካተት፣ እኩል ውክልና እንዲኖር መምከር፣ ሥርዓተ-ጾታ ተኮር ፖሊሲዎችን መፍጠር እና ሴቶች ጥቃትን ሳይፈሩ የሚሳተፉበት ሁኔታን መፍጠር አለበት። ሴቶችን በትምህርት፣ በአመራር ሥልጠና እና በማኅበረሰብ ተሳትፎ ማብቃት ጽናትን ማሳደግ እና ጾታን መሠረት ያደረጉ ጥቃት የተጣሉ እንቅፋቶችን እንዲያሸንፉ ያስችላቸዋል። ጾታን መሠረት ያደረጉ ጥቃትን ለመዋጋት እና የሥርዓተ-ጾታ እኩልነትን ለማሳደግ አጠቃላይ እርምጃዎችን በመውሰድ የበለጠ ፍትሐዊ እና ውክልና ያለው የፖለቲካ ሥርዓት ለማምጣት መሥራት እንችላለን።
